The National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) twice a year for admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA and for admission to the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy (INA).

The exam is open to male candidates who have completed their 12th grade or are in the 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as their core subjects. The selection process includes a written examination followed by a physical fitness test and an interview by the Services Selection Board (SSB).

The written exam consists of two papers - Mathematics (300 marks) and General Ability Test (600 marks) - each of 2.5 hours duration. The Mathematics paper tests the candidate's knowledge of algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and calculus. The General Ability Test includes English, General Knowledge, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, and Current Affairs.
